Standing in the Row (In Salat)

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “Arrange the rows in order, stand shoulder to shoulder, close the gaps, be accommodating to your brothers, and do not leave gaps for Satan. DO YOU KNOW

    What Is Backbiting?

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Do you know what is backbiting?" The Companions said: "Allah and His Messenger know better" Thereupon he said,  "Backbiting is talking about your (Muslim) brother in a manner which he dislikes." It was said to him:  "What if my (Muslim) brother is as I say". He said,  "If he is actually as you say, then that is backbiting; but if that is not in him, that is slandering". [Muslim]

Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) said: Supplication is of two kinds. One is worship and the other is a request. So He commands to be invoked with humility which is insisting in request and continuously in worship and “secretly” not loud to avoid “Ryea” (showing off)

Manners of Supplication

1.       Supplication should start with, “Bismillah…

2.      Supplication should be performed secretly and with a present (sincere) heart.

3.      Supplicate Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) with humility and express your need of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala).

4.      Insist to Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) in your supplication by repeating it many times.

5.      Invoke Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) by His Names and Attributes.

6.      Supplicate Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) by mentioning the righteous deeds you have done.

10.  Raise your hands while supplicating Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala)

11.  Be in the state of Purity during your supplication.

12.  When making supplication for others, start with yourself first then include others.

13.  Do not be aggressive when you are supplicating Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala)

14.  Remember to include your parents in your supplication

15.  Be patient. Do not expect an immediate response from Allah (Subhanahu wata’ala) although this could happen.

Times of Supplication

There are certain times supplication is more likely to be accepted by Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) as the Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said. These times are:

2.      Late at night

3.      Between Adhan and Iqama

Reasons for the Acceptance of Supplication

There are some reasons which cause the supplication to be accepted by Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) They are:

  • Repentance to Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala)

  • Good income

  • Perform Supererogatory Deeds

Reasons for the Rejection of Supplication

As there are reasons for acceptance of a supplication, there are also reasons for rejection of a supplication. Here are some reasons which will cause Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) to reject the supplication:

“If we have said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala), and if we have erred, then that is due to our own shortcomings and the Shayṭan”
